DAIBUKAN RYU

- The Daibukan Ryu (The School of the Great Warrior House ) is a modern school based on the most traditional schools of the Asian continent. We seek to rescue the principles and strategies somewhat forgotten by the modern arts and that focused more on the sport.
- We are considered a Gendai Budo (Modern Art) and also a Sogo Budo or So Budo
(integrated martial arts) but based on the old Koryu schools.
This ones are divided in different styles and at the same time are subdivided
into three pillars, the Physical, the Mental and the Cultural teachings.
-The Physical teachings are divided into:
-DAIBUKAN GOSHINKEN: (The Self-Defense Fist of the Great Warrior House)
-DAIBUKAN AIKIJUTSU: (The Aiki War Art of the Great Warrior House)
-DAIBUKAN AIKIDO: (The Harmony Way of the Great Warrior House). Program dedicated to children
and teenagers. (Alternative style)
-KOPPO JUTSU: (Art of the bones) program focused on the manipulation of joints,
only transmitted to selected students.
-KENKO HO: (Method of Health) therapeutic program.
Only transmitted to selected students.
-HEIKI WAZA: (Weapons Program), unifies all the weapons studied in our Ryu.
Learn in our two main programs
-The Mental practice
are divided into:
-REIGI & REIHO (The Art of etiquette and respect).
-HARAGEI (The Art of developing internal energy and power).
-DENTO TO BUNKA (Culture & Tradition).
-TETSUGAKU (Philosophy).
-SEISHIN NO JUTSU (Spiritual Teachings).
(It includes religious studies (Shūkyō) of our Ryu,
and it's only for select students.)
-The Cultural teachings are divided into:
-CHANOYU (Tea Ceremony) also called SADO,we use our own form based on
The characteristics of our Ryu.
-IKEBANA (Japanese Art of Flowers) In our Ryu we use the style called SHOKA,
due to its simplicity.
Our Kaikyū Seido grade system [階級 制度] is a curriculum of step by step Zenzen Shugaku [漸 々 修 学].
We must remember that the Daibukan Heihou is a school of self defense (護身 錬 鍛: goshin-rentan),
of "mental practice" (精神 修養: seishin-shūyō).
All subsidiaries worldwide follow the same Kamokuhyō (curriculum). We base the training methods
on the principle that body and spirit (心身 一如: shinshin-ichinyo) are not separated and that is why it is necessary to train body and spirit (拳 禅 一如: kenzen ichinyo).
There are 3 different types of martial categories:
- The first category is Bukai [武 階],
"technical degrees", which are divided into Mundansha (equivalent to Kyus degrees)
and the Yudansha (equivalent to Dan grades).
-The second category are the Hōkai [法 階], philosophical degrees.
If you meet the conditions, you can receive Hōkai degrees along with your corresponding
Bukai grade after the Shodan. These denominations are:
-The third category in the Daibukan Sogo Budo is the Sōkai [僧 階] or spiritual degrees,
they are ranges only for disciples who have transcended the simple technique and its philosophy.
It refers to the spiritual and esoteric part of our school, which is only transmitted to people who wish to learn this, and yet must be accepted by the teacher to follow this path. This part is called "Issokai",
spiritual levels of the Ryu.
- The spiritual ranks or Sōkai [僧 階] are only intended for students who
Follow the spiritual path, and religious principles. These are:
